Zweigelt is an Austrian red wine variety that is very popular in that county. It is in fact the most red popular variety there. It makes lighter-style everyday drinking wines, but in the hands of skilled winemakers it produces rich full-bodied wines suitable for ageing.
Hahndorf Hill in the Adelaide Hills have used Zweigelt for the quite some time. It is now also used by Mt Bera, also in the Adelaide Hills, Andrew Peace Wines in the Swan Hill Region in and Josef Chomry in Northern Tasmania.
Zweigelt is one of the wines featured the latest offering from our online wine partner.1
