I have been busy with updating pages on Vinodiversity. I use a rather Heath Robinson1 method using a Google spreadsheet, then generating a Text file to list the producers of a variety or the producers in a region with alternative varieties.

This process takes time, but I do get to run an eye over the text and fix a few of my innumerable typos. There’s always a few more, no matter how many edits I do.
So over the past week I have updated a few major pages.
Tumbarumba - new page with seven producers
Fiano - nearly 200 producers
Nero d’Avola just over 100
Arinto - an ex Rare Ozzie variety now has 26 producers
Vermentino - more than 160 producers
Gruner Veltliner over 70
Trebbiano - I have 18 listed but I’m sure there are lots more
A wine question with a surprising answer
The answer to the question is one of the varieties listed above. You can see those pages, and a few more recently made pages by looking at this page.
Last week also visited Heathcote in the City, a one-day show at the Convent at Abbotsford. A great venue and a chance to catch up with a few friends among the exhibitors and the punters.
Sorry you missed this
A few weeks ago I published a piece by our friend and fellow Vinodiversity Community member Vince about his trip to the Swan Valley and the Perth Hills regions. Next week Vince will report on his visit to the Gambero Rosso Wine Show in Melbourne.
As an aside I was surprised about how few people had heard about this event. And there are other events happening as well that many of us are unaware of. So maybe we can share info - about wine shows, shed sales or other news. I need your help with this. Send items to me and we can have a section about upcoming events. Just drop me a line.
Don’t Miss This - Darby Talks about Chardonnay
The next Taste and Talk will be held on Thursday 15th June, and we will be talking about Chardonnay the star alternative variety of 1980 - what went wrong, what happened, what was learned, and why some people are revising their views about it.
